My talented and beautiful friend Raiya Corsiglia (www.raiyacorsiglia.com/
) commissioned us to design and create her dream wedding gown! The peach color of the gown is special.. she showed me a peach Prom gown her Father bought for her when she was in high school, the color is an homage to him, and to that special gown~
The lace we used on the corset is some of the most beautiful (and expensive) fabric I've ever worked with! It was a sample from France which a store in the LA fabric district had briefly before sending it to China to be replicated. The lace is encrusted with clear crystals, laser cut sheer flowers, and a basket weave embroidery. The folded fabric over the chest opens up to match the fabric on the skirt.
The skirt trains with a overlay of pintucked organza. We added crystals falling down from the corset on to the skirt. The back of the gown laces up with peach silk ribbon. I gave her two different sets of removable sleeves: One set are long and dramatic, for a traditional ceremony, while the other set is an airy strip of flowers that attach to the corset and drape over her arms.
I can't wait to see photos from their wedding! They were married at the Hatley Castle (www.hatleycastle.com/
) used for the X-Mansion/ Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters!
